Using red and blue to contrast two spaces, Panya is searching and trying to discover what is happening in the space in-between. Concerned with the spiritual aspects of life time and space, Panya includes five floating Buddha heads. This is a reference to the Thai Buddhist belief that the present Buddha is the fourth Buddha (each Buddha lives 5000 years). According to the Buddhist calendar, the year 2000 is recorded as 2543 B.E., therefore halfway through the life of the 4th Buddha (Pataragup) . At the end of this period the world will enter a dark age but the 5th future Buddha (Praseeareeyamedrai) will come.
