Preecha experiments with traditional Thai symbols such as the "kanok", a flame-like motif, and the circle, symbolizing the wheel of Dhamma (the Lord Buddha's teachings) and the Buddhist focus on the life-death-life cycle. These forms and the strongly contrasting black and gold are reminiscent of the lacquer decoration on the ancient bookcases which hold Buddhist scriptures.
