This
piece is based on an illustration Preecha contributed to HM King Rama IX's
book "Mahajanaka", a Buddhist tale about perseverance. In this classic legend,
the hero is tossed from his boat and swims blindly in the sea for seven
days and seven nights, until finally catching sight of his destination (land).
Preecha's newspaper boat is created from articles detailing the corrupt
society sinking under its problems. We are shown the transition from ignorance
to intelligence.
